To help improve the skills of local teachers in elementary and junior high schools in DKI Jakarta SF Teacher Institute initiated a collaborative programme with Depdiknas and local education agencies. The program focused on classroom management and student assessment. 1000 teachers participated in the one day course conducted in groups of 25. The programme took place on Tuesday and Thursday each week from April to June 2007.

To provide further support and to help gage the impact of the programme upon schools SFTI completed a follow up of the program by collecting data and working with teachers from SMP 266, SDN 05 Rawamangun, and SDN 03 Cawang as sample school. There was examples collected of classes becomes more conducive and both teacher and students gaining more the teaching and learning process.

SFTI has gave the report and presentation of the research about “Teacher Managerial Type and Teacher Assessment Analysis Type” to Dr. Hj. Sylviana Murni, S.H., M.Si. (Head of Elementary Education Depertment, DKI Jakarta Province) and her staff including the representative LPMP.

There were a forum discussion between SFTI and Dinas Pendidikan dasar Prov. DKI Jakarta about the report including testimonials from the teachers that received the advice from SFTI and successfully implemented it their classroom. The results of this program will become a pioneer that will be sugested to be developed and implemented in all LPMP in DKI Jakarta.
