WORKSHOP OBJECTIVE
a.    To enrich participants with theory and concept about Character Education and Value-Based Physical Activities.
b.    To enhance participants’ skills on designing and developing effective extracurricular programs that foster characters education.
c.    To give practical example on: aligning extracurricular program with the concept of character education; motivating and engaging students in value-based physical activities.

WORKSHOP OUTLINE

DAY 1:

i.    Theory and concept about character education and youth development
ii.    Principles of effective extracurricular program.
iii.    Leadership and social skill development in physical activities.

DAY 2:
i.    Psychosocial dynamics of physical activities.
ii.    Designing and developing effective extracurricular program.
iii.    Collaborative practice on value-based physical activity.

FACILITATOR

Thomas J. Martinek is Professor and the Coordinator of Community Youth Sport Development in School of Health and Human Performance, University of North Carolina at Greensboro; His areas of special interest are community youth development and leadership programs, resiliency in underserved youngsters, and psychosocial dynamics of teaching and coaching.

Prof. Martinek has conducted abundant research and project on youth development programs, physical activities and physical education, motivation to learn among youngsters, and psychosocial of physical activities and after-school programs. He wrote several textbooks, and the latest one was: “Youth leadership in sport and physical education” which was published in 2007.

TERM AND CONDITION

1.    In order to conduct this workshop the number of participants should be at least fourteen people. 2.    The workshop will be delivered in English with translation to Bahasa Indonesia.
3.    Registration fee include workshop materials, lunch and coffee breaks for two days
4.    Certificate will be issued by SFTI
