Course Description
The purpose of this training is to better equip Mathematics teacher with pedagogical and content knowledge of the subject, as part of their professional development in order to be more effective classroom teachers. The key message is that these topics can be taught in an interesting and more meaningful way that enhances students’ understanding of concepts. Teachers are also shown ways to identify the students’ errors and misconceptions. The approach of this workshop is interactive: teachers are advised to participate in the different activities towards designing activities for their students. By the end of the course, teachers are facilitated towards producing their own materials that can be brought back to be used by the teachers in their actual classrooms.
Course Benefits
• Teachers will be shown with alternative ways of teaching different mathematics concepts,
including designing of suitable activities and worksheets for their students in their schools;
• Worksheets and suitable handouts will be provided for the course participants;
• Teachers will in the process of the course develop some material during the course. These
products will be useful for the course participants for their school teaching.
