Hope for the Future
The Sampoerna Foundation Teacher Institute (SFTI) working with DIKNAS and partners actively strives to help teachers improve their skills, knowledge and confidence to explore new and innovative teaching methods. At the same time, we seek to improve the status of the teaching profession within the community.
One of the ways we will achieve this is through the annual teachers’
congress or Kongres Guru Indonesia (KGI). This congress will provide
more than 1,000 teachers throughout Indonesia with the opportunity to
acquire new knowledge and methods from education experts as well as to
meet up with other teachers to share their experiences.
The goal is to enable them to lead change within their classrooms through improved practices and techniques.
Your Participation
Last year in 2007, over 1,000 teachers attended this two-day event which drew great interest from more than 10 corporate sponsors as well as from the media, resulting in over 30 media reports, including the Jakarta Post and Kompas.
This year the conference and workshop will be titled, “Think Global Act Local” and will be held November 27-28th in Jakarta with international and national speakers.
