Designed for principals and aspiring
principals to develop the
necessary skills to run a successful school, Sampoerna Foundation
Teacher Insitute invites school leadership teams to participate in the
Leadership Development Programme. This programme is made up of ten days
of workshops over a 5 month period.
- Each team will develop, as part of the programme,
a school development plan for their own school.
- To successfully complete the programme, participants will
demonstrate how they have implemented the school development plan.

- We will provide you with the necessary current KNOWLEDGE to develop your
role as a professional who is able to reflect upon practice and lead change.
- To support your INNOVATIONS we will study current educational thinking to
enable you to develop in depth understandings of educational issues.
- The SKILLS required to lead change will be systematically discussed, shared
and put into practice.
- We will increase you leadership and managerial EXPERTISES in executing and
dealing with school management practices and school-based leadership.
- We will seek to increase your READINESS to take on duties as a competent
school leader, manager and communicator to elevate your school to the highest
possible quality.
- As part of the programme we will examine a range of case studies to provide
PRACTICAL EXERCISES in helping you how to twist daily challenges into manageable
tasks, which maintain the integrity of the vision for the school.
- We provide and explore together STRATEGIES to formulate action plans to
facilitate and to support school improvement.
- Essential to the success of the programme is the INPUT & FEEDBACK
between participants and facilitators to support the school-based programme
development.
- The success of the programme will be measured by the obvious growth in the
PROFESSIONALISM of the participants.
